As a chemistry graduate from the University of Guelph, I discovered that the monotony and isolation of working in a lab just wasn’t for me. Having enjoyed retail jobs from an early age, I decided that working with people and helping others was much more rewarding and that was to be my calling.
Starting my career as a customer service rep with Holt Renfrew I eventually became a Director on the store planning team where I managed multi-million construction projects. After 10 years, I was fed up with the concrete jungle of Toronto and so I moved to a small hobby farm outside Peterborough and now enjoy living the country life. Currently I'm working as an Innovation Specialist at the Innovation Cluster - Peterborough and the Kawarthas. I focus on digital technology startups and working with youth to develop entrepreneurial interest and skill development. It's extremely rewarding.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering in my local community of Asphodel-Norwood. Currently I'm the Chair of the Economic Development Committee and Co-founder, Chair and Board Director for Norwood Pride Inc - a nonprofit supporting the local LGBTQ community.
